Sacred Tools for Plant Medicine Ceremony
Ceremony is the container. The medicine may be powerful, but without a proper ceremonial container — a sacred space, clear intention, and the right tools — its gifts cannot fully land. At Pillars of Light, our collection of ceremonial items is curated to support practitioners at every stage of their journey with sacred plant medicines.
Setting up a sacred space begins with cleansing. We carry authentic Palo Santo sourced from Ecuador, sustainably harvested copal resin, and Mapacho tobacco for traditional smoke cleansing. These three plants form the foundation of ceremonial space preparation across many Amazonian and Mesoamerican traditions.
After cleansing, the altar is built. An altar is a focal point — a physical representation of the sacred intention being held during ceremony. Our collection includes hand-carved ceremonial bowls for holding Hapé, decorative Shipibo-style textiles for altar cloths, crystal and stone allies for energetic anchoring, and ceremonial candles for light and presence.
For those who work with Hapé, the ceremonial items include the Hapé itself, the Kuripe or Tepi pipe for administration, and a quiet, grounded space to receive the medicine. Many practitioners choose to sit facing east, toward the sunrise and new beginnings. Others face the direction that calls to them in the moment.
In the tradition of many Amazonian tribes, closing a ceremony is just as important as opening it. We offer closing ceremony supplies including Florida Water for clearing and brightening the energy field, natural incense blends for sealing the space, and offering bowls for returning gratitude to the plant spirits.

About Our Ceremonial Collection
Sacred tools carry the intention of the tradition they come from. At Pillars of Light, we source our ceremonial items directly through relationships with Indigenous artisans and communities — primarily from Brazil, Peru, and Colombia.
Our ceremonial collection includes items for every stage of a sacred plant medicine practice: tools for preparing and working with hapé, items for smudging and space clearing, ceremonial vessels, and traditional crafts from the tribes whose medicine we carry.
Ethically sourced. Every item in our ceremonial collection comes from artisans we know by name. We do not source from wholesale intermediaries. The relationships we maintain with Indigenous makers are central to how we operate.
In-person experience. Our Old Town Spring, TX location carries a broader selection of ceremonial items than what is listed here online. If you are looking for something specific, visit us at 318 Main Street, Suite D, Spring, TX 77373 or reach out before your visit.
